TOURIST- US and Non-US Citizens
1. Valid and Signed Passport Passport must have two blank side by side visa pages and be valid 6 months beyond stay.
- Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visas **If applying for a 3 year tourist visa, the passport must be valid 6 months beyond the expiration of the visa |
2. Photographs
Two recent passport type photos, in color, on photo paper, front view and with a white background - Size 2x2 We will cut down the photo and paste it on your application.

3. Visa Application Form
Two(2) visa applications must be sent- (Original signature plus one copy) - Applications not completed properly may cause a delay in the issuance of the visa -Please do not leave any field blank and answer each question in detail - If a field is not applicable- put N/A or None Follow the link to complete the online form: RUSSIAN APPLICATION LINK - Print the application and sign on the second page at the bottom -You must write down the application ID and the security answer in case corrections or changes need to be made. -APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED IF HANDWRITTEN NOTES ARE ON THE APPLICATION. **Please refer to the additional notes in the section below** **Russian Application functions with Internet Explorer 7.0 and above or Mozilla Firefox. |
4. Travel Itinerary
Itinerary from airline or travel agency indicating the following - Applicants Name - Dates of travel(to and from country) It is recommended that tickets not be purchased or confirmed until the visa has been issued. |
5. Russian Confirmation and Voucher
This is usually given to you at no charge by your hotel or travel agent. Please request this upon booking your hotel stay. You must have the voucher, details from the voucher are critical for properly completing the application. Dates listed on Voucher MUST MATCH the same dates listed in the online application **We can get the invitation on your behalf, please contact us. For 3 year Tourist Visa Only Please use sample letter below to formally request a 3 year multiple entry visa.

NEXT STEPS........
1. Gather the passport, documents, and send them to us via UPS, DHL, or FEDEX. (We recommend a courier that allows you to track the package).
2. Once we receive the package, we will verify the documents and submit them to the appropriate Consulate. (Should we need any additional clarification or documents, you can be sure that we will contact you). |
Consular Requirements and Additional Notes
-Always select "ILS WASHINGTON" when asked for the location where you will be applying for your visa.
- 3 year tourist visas can only be processed as regular processing and cannot be expedited
-Those applicants who were former USSR or Russian Federation citizens must submit proof that their Russian Citizenship has been abrogated.
-Those applicants who were born in a state of the former Soviet Republic or Ukraine must supply a copy of their Soviet or Ukrainian passport, along with a letter from the applicant stating when they immigrated to the United States.
-A minor traveling to Russia must have a letter of consent signed by parents or guardians. If child is traveling with one parent, copy of their visa and passport must be submitted along with the letter of consent signed by the non traveling parent or guardian
**The Russian Embassy has the right to request additional documents/evidence such as:
-Bank statement from the applicant
-Statement from the employer regarding the applicants wages
-Valid medical insurance
-Documents regarding the applicant's ownership of property
-Personal Interview may be requested at the discretion of the Consulate

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- As a general rule, each Consulate has the right to request more documents or request an in-person interview. The validity of the visa is the sole discretion of the Consulate. Due to unexpected backlogs the Consulate may increase their processing time without notice. Certain nationalities or passport holders may result in additional processing time, this is determined by the Consulate.
